Once you’ve passed the CFP examination and completed three years of qualifying financial planning work experience, you’re ready to apply for CFP certification.
You must apply for CFP certification within four years of passing the CFP examination.
In order to maintain your status as a CFP professional, you must do the following every year:
CFP®, Certified Financial Planner® and the logo are certification trademarks owned outside the U.S. by Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB).
Financial Planning Standards Council is the marks licensing authority for the CFP marks in Canada, through agreement with FPSB. All other ® are registered trademarks of FPSC, unless indicated.
