President’s List honours Canada’s highest scorers
TORONTO, ON – April 10, 2018 – Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has announced the members of the esteemed President's List for the November 2017 sitting of the CFP® examination, recognizing candidates who achieved the highest marks out of hundreds of exam writers from across the country.
The President’s List honourees are:
- Nathan Wood – Calgary, AB (1st place)
- Travis Allen – Kitchener, ON (2nd place tie)
- Wes Cowlishaw – Saskatoon, SK (2nd place tie)
Members of the President’s List were recognized from a record total of 473 candidates who wrote the final, standardized national CFP examination.
“FPSC congratulates these exceptional individuals for their performance on this challenging case-based examination,” says FPSC President and CEO Cary List. “We wish them great success as CFP professionals who will play a critical role in assisting Canadians achieve financial well-being.”
To qualify to write the six-hour CFP examination, candidates must have first successfully completed an FPSC-Approved Core Curriculum education program, the FPSC Level 1® Examination in Financial Planning and an FPSC-Approved Capstone Course. Successful CFP examination candidates with three years of relevant work experience are then eligible to apply for CFP certification, the only globally recognized mark of financial planning professionalism.
President’s List recipients will be recognized at FPSC’s Celebration of the Profession Dinner at the Toronto Reference Library, taking place November 20, 2018 during Financial Planning Week.
Examinations on the path to CFP certification are offered twice per year in locations across Canada. The next FPSC Level 1 examination will take place on May 31 and the next CFP examination on June 1. Registration is available here.
